After a four year probation period, the Institute for Nursing Research and Practice of the Paracelsus Medical University in Salzburg has been designated as a WHO Collaborating Centre.
On 12 January 2016, WHO Director General Dr Margaret Chan appointed ICN Board member, Professor Jürgen Osterbrink, as Director of the WHO Collaborating Centre for Nursing Research and Education with a focus on Health Care Research in particular on Palliative Care.
Terms of Reference:
1. In collaboration with WHO technical program, develop a multidisciplinary Palliative Care (P.C.) curriculum for health care professionals in the European Region.
2. To assist WHO in the dissemination of relevant documents and information on P.C. nursing.
3. To support WHO by conducting research to improve quality in P.C. nursing.
